Local hip-hop artist, Cassper Nyovest, will be taking on of the biggest trial in entertainment, filling up Africa’s largest stadium. Nyovest announced the news a few months ago. On Wednesday, he took to Twitter to announce that the tickets are on sale.
The “fill up” concept is Nyovest’s attempt at making dreams come true, during the Fill up the Dome press conference, he said that he is only trying to show to the world that it is possible for an average kid from Mahikeng to make his dreams come true.
Previously, Nyovest attempted filling up the Tickepro Dome, that has a capacity of 20 000, which was a success. Although the plan to Fill Up Orlando Stadium came short in 2016, he managed to feature international acts such as WizKid and legendary kwaito artists like Doc Shebeleza and Mgarimbe.
Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium has a seating capacity of 94 736, making it the 12th-largest stadium in the world. International artists such as U2 have managed to “fill up” the stadium during their U2 360° Tour, holding the highest record in South Africa. While bands like Coldplay, Kings of Leon and Linkin Park managed to have over 60 000 attendees to their shows at the stadium.
#FillUpFNBStadium is a support tour for Nyovest’s third studio album, Thuto, which features artist such as Goapele, Tsepo Tshola, Nadia Nakai and more.
